CLUB MACLEAY UPGRADE NEARING COMPLETION

May 6, 2017

Recent upgrades at Club Macleay are nearing completion.

With the windows that used to separate the front verandah area of the club and the club dining room seating being removed, the stage was set for entirely new floor coverings.

New carpet has been installed to clearly identify the dining areas, with a new vinyl surface applied to delineate the bar, dancing, and communal area.

Club chairman, Rod Callaghan, said the removal of the windows and now the new floor coverings have given a different ‘feel’ to the club.

“It is definitely more open and welcoming. I believe it is a huge improvement,” he told The Friendly Bay Islander.

“People in the main dining area now don’t feel they are excluded from the quite magnificent water views that we have here.”

The club has also spent a considerable amount of money installing a new surround sound system and a new big screen TV.

“We are not finished yet.

“We are now going to paint some of the timbered areas, particularly around the bar and gradually give the club a whole new, fresh appeal,” he said.
