A special Open Day was held at the Emergency Services facility on High Central Road, Macleay Island in June.

The Macleay Island Rural Fire Brigade and the Macleay Island police held displays and information at the event.

Macleay Island police provided the local community with knowledge about services that are available within the local community.

Crime Stoppers and the Volunteer in Policing (ViPs) staff provided information on crime security, scam watch and the importance of reporting matters to police.

Redlands City Council Disaster Management team also attended the event and spoke with members of the community on the importance of being prepared for disasters.

The Macleay Island Rural Fire Brigade mascot ‘BUSHY’, made a appearance which was enjoyed by many.

It was a great fun day with demonstrations and interactive stalls showing the strength and partnership between all the emergency services on Macleay Island.
