LAMB ISLAND RURAL FIRE SERVICE
You can always tell it’s EKKA time when the wind turns. Not only is it COLD, it’s not the kind of weather to be lighting fires. Remember to always check what fire restrictions are in place in your local area by asking one of our crew, including the Fire Warden or going online. We also want to thank those members of our team who assisted the Redland City Council with some Hazard Reduction Burns on Russell Island in August.
WHATS HAPPENING AT THE CLUB?
Spring is upon us! Will, our Club chef will be taking some time out to spend with his new arrival and family. But never fear, he will return. In the meantime, we hope you will continue to support the Club’s kitchen and the volunteers who will fill that void for a short time.
Need a ride? Contact the Club to arrange a pick up/drop off. We coincide with these ferry times as listed below:

LAMB ISLAND CONVENIENCE STORE
Don’t forget your bag! If you are anything like me, you go into the shops and come out with lots of new “enviro bags” or the plastic type that most stores are now selling. Don’t be like me and remember to take your bag along when you visit Chris and Eka, you just never know what else you might find while browsing the shelves.
Do you want to live in a safe community? Do you want to know you can trust the people who live here with you? There is no shame in reporting small crimes or incidents in our neighborhood. These incidents could include: Graffiti, Noise complaints, Hooning, Suspicious activities and more. For more information go to:

OUR JETTY GARDEN
For a long time I have wondered what visitors think of our garden area (if that’s what we call it) as they walk up the ramp onto our island? A few of us have decided its time to “pretty it up”. We are going to focus on the 3 flower boxes already there so if you are keen to help or have ideas or materials we could use that would be much appreciated. Contact me on 0401612479 if you would like more information. Check the notice boards also for information in the coming months.
