In recognition of the huge support for the Buy Island Local campaign, the draw for the event will be held at the Le Bon Bakery building on Macleay Island.
Kerrie from Le Bon has been the biggest supporter of the competition, filling out nearly 30 raffle books of entries in the competition.
"One of our customers won it last year, and we hope we get the winner again this year," she told The Friendly Bay Islander.
The draw will be carried out at the Le Bon Bakery site on Friday December 19 at 11am.
Cr Mark Edwards has agreed to carry out the draw and announce the winner of the $1000 for Christmas.
There are more island businesses involved in the Buy Local campaign this year, including North Stradbroke Island, and someone on our islands is going to win the $1000 for Christmas!
The SHOP and WIN promotion is about boosting island business, and it is working.
"The competition has definitely improved turnover in our bakery," Kerrie said.
Support participating businesses in this magazine and you will have a chance to win $1000 Cash for Christmas, so watch out for participating signs and the raffle tickets that need to be filled out with name and phone number.
Our 'Buy Local Support Island Business' is to make locals more aware of what is available locally and will run until December 19.
Every local business which advertises in The Friendly Bay Islander can be part of the campaign.
The more purchases you make at participating stores, the more entries you will have in the draw.
The competition will be drawn and winners will receive their prizes on Friday, December 19 with the winners announced publicly in the mid January, 2015 edition of The Friendly Bay Islander.
