LIL'S OFF TO GAY PAREE!

Big Win for Post Office Lady

• A happy Lil Threadgate with her Prize-winning ticket and Post Office girls Nancy and Danielle

Lil Threadgate is the happiest person on the Bay Islands at the present time.

Lil was advised just prior to going to press that she had won a nation-wide competition run by Australia Post.

She was one of three Post Office operators to win a $30,000 holiday to Paris, France. And the trip is for two people!

It is an all expenses, gilt holiday that offers first class everything!

It includes dining on the River Seine, travelling to the remarkable Palace of Versailles, any many other French events and attractions, and staying a stone's throw from the Arch de Triomphe and the Champs Elysee.

"I have never been so excited in my life," Lil told The Friendly Bay Islander.

She has never travelled to Europe before, and going to Paris will be one of the highlights of her life.

Getting the smile of Lil's face would take a sledgehammer.

It is lovely seeing someone so deserving, so happy.

"It was an Australia-wide competition.

"There were three prizes awarded, and the little Macleay Island Post Office just happened to be one of them," she said.

The other two prizes went to Post Offices in New South Wales and Victoria.

To say 'thank you' to the people of Macleay, whose support help Lil win the prize, she is holding a FREE sausage sizzle fun day at the Post Office on Saturday, February 21.

Also, until February 20, if you complete any transaction within the Post Office, you will receive a ticket to go into the draw for a 10" Pendo Pad drawn at 11am on Saturday, February 21.

All Islanders congratulate Lil on her competition win and we know she will enjoy her Paris adventure.
