Our Bay Islands have a plant that exists here that could be the next great ‘cancer cure’.
The plant is Euphorbia Peplus, also known as Radium Weed.
It seems the plant is particularly effective in the treatment for melanoma.
The plant’s unique properties were revealed at a recent meeting of the very active Karragarra Garden Club, that was also attended by Cr Mark Edwards.
The meeting was addressed by George Allen, vice president of the Subtropical Fruit Growers Club.
Cr Edwards told The Friendly Bay Islander: “I was surprised how good it was and packed with people. “One of the things George Allen showed was the plant Radium Weed, or Euphorbia Peplus.
“Apparently one drop of its sap kills skin cancer,” Cr Edwards said.
George Allen produced photos of himself treating a melanoma.
“Apparently George had been diagnosed with melanoma.
“He asked his doctor for two weeks to try the plant treatment before having the offending skin disorder cut out.
“He took photos everyday and says he was ‘cured’ after 10 days. Apparently the doctor was amazed,” Cr Edwards said.
The plant has been turned into a cancer treatment by a German firm who charge up to $150 for five drops.
Apparently the natural plant is far more effective and it grows wild, including right here on our islands. The plant triggers defence cells into identifying and attacking cancer.
Cr Edwards, who has had several skin cancers removed, is so impressed that he has already ordered 60 plant seeds to grow on his island property.
Radium weed is not classified as a noxious weed in any Australian State. It grows rapidly, self seeds easily and it is wonderfully suitable for anyone to grow in even the smallest home garden.
Euphorbia peplus is the only member of the family that exhibits exactly the right chemical combination, to be useful in the treatment of BCC's and SCC's.
