TIME N TIDE-MAY
Next time you see a family member or a whole family peering into their phones trying to ‘communicate with the world’, give this a thought. Whilst striving to communicate in a new tech way, they are missing out communication the REAL way, by speaking with family and friends around them. The art of speaking to one another could well be lost in another generation, or sooner!
SHADES OF THE OPERA HOUSE!
You can’t blame the islands for starting to run out of patience. The build by Paynter Dixon of the new Translink bus station at Weinam Creek is now in the realms of the Sydney Opera House and the Pyramids! The process started in June of last year when the area was first sealed off for parking use. It was another six weeks before any work actually got under way. The process, since, has been snail-like. Clearly, foundations are substantial, but the final coverage, for the amount of effort, will be minuscule. The signs around the place indicate that it will be at least June or July before we see the premises set aside for a coffee shop and another small shop. That mean the total build will have taken 12 months. Amazing, when you consider that when it comes to the building game, time is money!
MARK EDWARDS LAID UP!
Cr Mark Edwards has been out of commission for the past couple of weeks. The councillor badly sprained his ankle to such an extent that his foot resembled a NSW Blues football. The doctors ‘ordered’ him to bed and it could be a little time before he is up and about again.
HARD DRUM NUMBER!
Oops, had a digit incorrect in the Phone number for Davin’s Harp Drums story that appeared in the April edition of the FBI. If you want one of those lovely Harp Drums, you can give him a call on 0452 454 277.
