GALA FINAL NIGHT FOR ISLAND’S BEST TALENT!

GALA FINAL NIGHT FOR ISLAND’S BEST TALENT!

The Gala Final Night of Episode One of The Bay Islands Got Talent showed with the support of local business, the Redalnds City Council and the Bay Islands Community just how much talent there is right here on the Bay Islands. The event was conceived and managed by The Bay Islands Church, who through there members fully maned, planned and ran both the auditions and final night.

The night was a also a fund raiser for the Russell Island primary school and saw over $2,000 presented to the school for some very needed programs.

There were near 300 in the audience to witness the 15 acts on show, ranging from 4 years of age to senior citizens, all with a variety of talent,

The judges were left with the very difficult decisions of who to choose as the winners in 5 categories. The 3 judges being Ned Kovacich from Aunty Alice's Cafe with a background in vocal and instrument training, live performing and supporting live acts at the cafe, Steve Morgan with a local history of event and festival management, and 10 years involvement in community radio and judging of the Brisbane Blues festival and Gabe Phoenix, who is the man behind the Elvis Tribute Show,international known and an outstanding voice & immaculate presentation on stage. However difficult the decisions were final and the winners were presented with trophies and $100 each in the categories below:

Jade = Little Star Award

Jayden Thompson =Judges Encouragement Award

Aliana Cosgrove = Best Child Award

Tyne =Peoples Choice

Shanice Parmenter =Best Female Talent

Joshua Linskey =Best Male Talent

• The Winners of Bay Islands Got Talent!

The Bay Islands Church will hold this event again as a community program, most likely on Macleay Islands over the next 6 to 12 months.

Once again the support of sponsors, talent and community has been very encouraging and is very much appreciated by all involved. Although not able to attend on the night our Redlands City Councillor Mark Edwards closely followed the build up to the Finals and was very impressed by the feedback from the night and congratulated the organizers for a very successful night.
