KABOOL THE SNAKE’S NEW HOME IN CULTURAL CENTRE
‘Kabool’ the Carpet Python has a new home in the Quandamooka Cultural Display Centre on North Stradbroke Island.
The magnificent carving by Ted Upton on Macleay Island, recently made its long trek to North Stradbroke Island and was handed over officially to the Quandamooka people.
It has now been placed in the new Cultural Display Centre at the Quandamooka headquarters located in the former North Stradbroke Island High School premises.
The carving is yet to be placed on stands at the display centre.
Its placement is part of the ongoing development of the Cultural Display Centre.
A spokesperson for the Quandamooka people said the display centre was a ‘continuing project’.
“There is much to go in this new area with the overall theme now in place.
“It is likely this area will be expanded thanks to future expected growth,” they said.
