Worlds Greatest Shave 2018 at Club Macleay
Come on down to Club Macleay ( Macleay Island Bowls Club) on the 17th of March to witness and support some brave Island residents as they shave or colour their hair in an attempt to raise much needed funds for The Leukemia foundations- 2018 World's Greatest Shave.
Local island resident Kylie Steed decided that this year she wants to be involved in helping to donate towards finding a cure for blood cancer. With the fantastic support from the Macleay Island Bowls Club, they have planned to do this on Saturday the 17th of March.
From 12pm to 2pm there will be raffles with various prizes donated from island businesses to raise money , gold coin donation kids face painting , and hair chalk sprays available for anyone that wants to get involved.
The goal is to raise $1000 or more for this worthy cause and for the SMBI to become involved in helping contribute to a cure for this horrible disease.
So far 4 local island residents have vowed to have their heads shaved , if enough funds can be raised. The club's Chairman Rod Callaghan and Honerable Secretary Peter Adams amongst the 4 in the race to have their heads shaved first.
The courtesy bus will be available to pick you up if needed. Just call 3409 5364 to book in advance. In the meantime there is a donation box on the bar for anyone wanting to donate anything they can afford, every dollar counts.
