FEDERAL FUNDS BOOST JUNIOR BOWLS VIA ‘JUNIOR JACK ATTACK’

FEDERAL FUNDS BOOST JUNIOR BOWLS VIA ‘JUNIOR JACK ATTACK’

The Russell Island Bowls Club has been given funds to purchase a junior bowling programme called "Junior Jack Attack”.

Funded by the Federal Government, ‘Junior Jack Attack’ is aimed at school age children and the funding provides the specialised equipment, designed for children.

The concept for the program is to put the ‘fun’ into bowling and to introduce young people to the sport.

The Russell Island Bowls Club plans to partner with the Russell island State School in allowing island children to avail themselves of this equipment as part of their sports day activities.

Island children have also been inspired to the sport following the success of young Russell Island junior bowler Zayah Morgan who is Queensland under 15 Bowls Champion and recently was selected to represent Queensland in a series against NSW.

To gain interest in the ‘Junior Jack Attack’ concept, the island bowls club will also be providing family social days at the club on a regular basis during 2018 to encourage parents and children to play ‘fun’ bowls.
