Island volunteers across all services were recently recognised at a special event held at the Macleay Island Community Hall.
It was in the form of a ‘de-briefing’ following the recent water crisis on the islands.
Cr Mark Edwards attended the event and presented recognition certificates to all the volunteers, including the island Community Champions.
The inter-agency debriefing meeting with the volunteers was designed to analyse the recent water crisis that saw Karragarra, Macleay and Lamb islands without water for nearly two days.
"The purpose was to see how similar situations can be improved in future crisis situations,” Cr Edwards said.
“We are so fortunate to have such a strong community representations with all our service groups,” he added.
