ANDREW STRANSKY FOLLOWS IN DAUGHTER MARA’S LASER WITH SAILING SUCCES
At the recent Queensland State Laser Championships in Bowen, Andrew Stransky placed 4th overall, and was the 2nd Queenslander to 19-year-old Frazer Brew.
Ten times World masters Champion Brett Beyer from NSW won the open event with Steve Gunther from Victoria 3rd, and Andrew 4th.
Andrew went on to then win the Queensland Grand Masters Laser Championship.
Andrew won the overall title in 2018 but he felt winning the Grand Masters title against this year’s competition was one of his best efforts in the Laser class.
“I actually feel my skills improving,” he told The Friendly Bay Islander.
Andrew says the family will be back on the Islands in time for Rhonda Chapman’s big Golf Day on May 30 to raise funds for Mara’s Olympic campaign.
