KAT GAWLICK AUCTION AT T.BARCLAY GENERATE SALES AND INTEREST On Saturday 28 January 2023, Russell Island was featured in the real estate section of the Courier Mail, and were promoted heavily in The Friendly Bay Islander. This was auction day for three Russell Island properties at 8 Gilcrest Road, 1 Karri Street and 28 Bay Drive. These properties had stirred a lot of interest as some may remember they had remained vacant for a very long time. The auction campaign led by T Barclay Real Estate sales agent Kat Gawlik had a short and sweet four-week time frame, with open homes every Saturday and the three auctions happening on site, one after the other on the 4th Saturday. All three were definitely ‘fixer-uppers’ and buyers were encouraged to do their due diligence and sums prior to bidding. They attracted both local and mainland builders, DIYers, investors, renovators, and first home buyers who saw this as an excellent opportunity. 1 Karri St, the property requiring the least work to make liveable, generated the most interest on auction day with 19 attendees and 9 registered bidders - 3 of which were interstate phone bidders. But it was local Bay Islanders who bid the highest on the day with 8 Gilcrest Rd selling under the hammer for $200,000, 1 Karri St for $205,000, and 28 Bay Drive passed in (now under contract post-auction). - Written by Kat Gawlik, Sales Agent, T Barclay Real Estate.
