COOCHIE CATCH UP

COOCHIE CATCH UP COOCHIE BEACH BAR 1ST BIRTHDAY!! The Coochiemudlo Island Beach Bar recently celebrated its 1st birthday on the 3rd of April 2022. The event was celebrated by the cutting of a cake and a speech by the new owners Ian and Christine Hart acknowledging the support of the community and the efforts of the previous owner Mr Kevin McCarthy. The Beach Bar now employs 12 part-time staff and is a favourite meeting place on the Island for locals and tourists to come together to sit down and have a meal and a drink and share stories. As part of an extended menu the Beach Bar is now serving premium Chargrilled Rib fillet steaks, BBQ pork Spare Ribs, chicken parmigiana, chicken schnitzels and many other succulent dishes. All of which can be viewed on it's Facebook page.

The Beach Bar team! HOPPING INTO EASTER! A welcome visitor to the Coochie Easter Markets was the ever popular Easter Bunny who distributed welcome eggs to local children...and even a few older residents! Mother Nature turned on perfect weather for the markets with a large crowd of locals and "overseas" visitors attending this popular event. PHOTO : SuzsiI Mandeville

You can walk around the entire island in about an hour and even less time with wheels under you. No matter what, everybody agrees this is a special place not to be missed! PHOTO: Anakhya

Locals and visitors touring the island. OUCH! THAT HURT! The recent deluge and high winds caused havoc on the waterways off Coochie. This pleasure craft was just one victim of Mother Nature's savagery when she slipped her mooring and crashed into the Victoria Point jetty sustaining considerable damage.

Boat Wreck. A SWINGING TIME ON COOCHIE! The beautiful Cotton Wood trees on Coochie's foreshore have provided fun and adventure for many generations of locals and visitors. These slightly older 'kids" show off their swinging style for the camera.

Anakhya : Another generation of Coochie swingers! MISSING THE BUS...IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE! Tia is a Coochie local who is five months pregnant and who relies on a dependable bus service to enable her to get to work on time. But don't let the big smile fool you...Tia is not a happy traveller! For the fourth time in a week the popular 8.30am 270 bus service from the Victoria Point Jetty did not turn up at all and she was forced to catch a later service. Tia says she has complained to the bus operator on numerous occasions but has not been given an explanation for the cancelled services or a guarantee of future services.
