SMBI COMMUNITY BAND ‘MUSIC IN THE MEADOW’
The SMBI Community Concert Band recently performed at "Music in the Meadow" at the Macleay Island Progress Hall.
Although the weather had been rainy and the grass was still wet it did not dampen the spirits of the band musicians or the keen audience goers.
The SMBI band joined with the Redland Adult Starter bands in a line up of favourites such as What a wonderful world and When the Saints go marching in.
With more than 40 musicians on wind, brass, percussion and string instruments an entertaining concert was had by all.
The conductor, Dave Wellman, thanked the council for RADF grant support, and also the Macleay Island Progress Association, Russell Bowls Club and Eight Sense Kitchen.
If you would like to join this growing band of enthusiastic musicians contact Eve Newsome on evenewsome@hotmail.com.
All levels and instruments welcome.
Rehearsals held Sundays 2pm - 4pm at the MI Progress Hall.

• Conductor David Wellmen and many members of the SMBI Community Concert Band rehearsing just prior to their outdoor performance.
