Not only has he owned and managed his own hotel, he has previously managed in the club industry, most recently at the Beenleigh Sports Club.
Phil now lives on Russell Island and has, in fact, owned a property here for many years.
The transition from Deborah to Phil as manager has been an easy and amicable one.
Phil is supportive of the plans previously put in place for the future of the club which involve major extensions at road level (previously featured in The Friendly Bay Islander).
“This is a direction the club needs and deserves to go, and I will be doing everything I can to help the club make this happen,” the new manager said.
The club is currently going from strength to strength.
Some recent changes have seen some fund raising events being held for island community groups via weekly raffles such as the Volunteer Fire Brigade, Chamber of Commerce, Fishing Club and Canaipa Connections.
Phil is being assisted in the marketing area by island photographer Alan Brooke..
Alan has a wealth of experience and is using his background artistically to aid the club.
