OLYMPIAN MARA STRANSKY

$800 IN SUPA IGA SUPA SHOPS TO BE WON IN FUND-RAISER FOR OLYMPIAN MARA STRANSKY

Over the next two months, islanders will get a chance to win x3 SUPA SHOPS at Russell Island’s Supa IGA supermarket.

It is all part of a major raffle to raise funds for island Olympian Mara Stransky who has been selected to represent Australia at the Tokyo Olympics in the Laser sailing class.

Mara is one of the youngest members of the Australian Olympic team

Prior to her Olympic selection, Mara virtually lived on a shoestring and was assisted with some small grants and some fund raising, thanks to her home islands.

The Supa IGA SUPA SHOP will provide x3 prizes to a total value of $800.

Supa IGA of Russell Island is providing the FIRST PRIZE of $500; with the Friendly Bay Islander providing the 2nd prize of $200 and the 3rd prize of $100.

The winners will get to use the value of these prizes in SUPA SHOPS at the Russell Island Supa IGA.

Tickets will be sold by volunteers from the BIMSARA group and the Community Champions over the next x2 months.

Selling started at the Australia Day event at Sandy Beach and will continue over the next x2 months in the foyer of the Supa IGA as well as various community markets, events and locations.

The prizes will be drawn in the foyer of the Supa IGA at 11am on Easter Saturday, April 3.

There is also a major Golf event to be run by Rhonda Chapman in March in aid of Mara.
