Volunteer of Year:- Eliza Morris Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club

I was proud have contributed to the event and to be in the room to witness history in the making as this event will almost certainly become an important Redlands Coast legacy and of our Sporting and cultural identity. To see Straddie and the club represented so strongly first up was a bonus.

Over 150 people gathered fort his exciting Black tie event and great credit to the volunteer committee of this not for profit group.

Olympians Alicia Coutts and Ashley Callus were inducted  the first two inductees into the Sports Hall of Fame.

Very worthy winners.

STRADDIE PART OF THE AUGMENTED REALITY CHRISTMAS TRAIL

Kids and grown ups can join the festive fun with our Christmas Trail, brought to life with the magic of augmented reality!

Look out for the Christmas character sticker on the footpath near the playground at Headland Park.

To experience the augmented reality, download and open the Creativitek app and hold it over the image on the sticker to be transported into another world.

Watch as the 3D animations burst into life and snap photos as special keepsakes!

Why not make a day of it and embark on an exciting adventure trail this Christmas as you search for festive characters at the 9 locations across Redlands.

Find them all on the map on Council's Christmas events website.

TRANSLINK DUNWICH FERRY TERMINAL PROJECT

At Councils general meeting of 20/11/2024 a submission to the State government regarding the terminal upgrade project was endorsed by Councillors.

The community can read the full submission on Councils website. I argued successfully that Council make a request to  Translink to add ongoing community representation to this project by inviting elected Local, state and Federal government representatives.

In addition I argued with the support of Cr Bishop to add a request that no change be made to passenger transportation at One Mile , without the State Government validating  a strong consulted community position.
