Tide: Redlands Coast Islands Festival

HELP MAKE SOME WAVES WITH TIDE Momentum is building around Tide: Redlands Coast Islands Festival with a hugely positive response so far. The revived and reinvigorated Karragarra Sea Market brought to you by SeaLink, is set to break records with stallholder applications flowing in. New events are being added to the festival program as well as support from local businesses and a new exciting partnership with SeaLink is helping to shape the festival into a multi-island extravaganza. Karragarra Sea Market Assistant Coordinator Shirley Lindsay encourages interested stallholders to get their applications in quickly saying “Stalls are booking up fast and it’s looking like we will have fantastic variety and quality for the market. As well as our wonderful local island enterprises, we are having many applications come in from the mainland, so word is really getting around. "One new presence I am very excited about is Valerie Pearson from Green Living Australia. As well as selling a range of sustainable lifestyle products, she will be sharing her extensive knowledge of yoghurt making and other fermented foods during two separate presentations.” “The much loved Festival of Small Halls will be heading over to the islands and be part of the Tide program as well as heading to Minjerribah later in the year. The Festival of Small Halls event will take place on Wednesday 28th September at the Russell Island Recreation Hall” announced Tide Festival Director, Jeremy Staples. Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists from Australia and abroad that are performing at two of our country’s largest festivals, and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities all over Australia. Many of our local businesses are jumping on the opportunity to partner with Tide and invest in creating a unique and landmark event. Well known Russell Island personality Chris McGregor of Bay Islands Property has become the first ‘Big Ship’ sponsor making a significant donation to the Karragarra Sea Market brought to you by SeaLink. Many other community-minded businesses have come on board as sponsors of the festival, with further contributions pledged so far from JSBs Earthmoving & Tree Specialists, Watts Up Solar & Electrical and Supa IGA Russell Island. Volunteer roles with Tide are important and range from assisting with setup at the Karragarra to taking tickets at the Festival of Small Halls event. There are opportunities for everyone keen to be part of Tide.
