COMPANY RUNS ENTIRE QUEENSLAND OPERATION FROM OUR ISLAND!
WattsUp Solar and Electrical, based on Macleay Island, has had a significant impact on our island community.
The company in recent years has been responsible for the majority of home solar and battery, and off grid systems on our islands, with over 350 solar and battery installations.
Much of this has come about because the owners and operators, Smiley , Ramona Sansoni,and Eugene Clarke , live and operate the business from our islands, and Macleay Island in particular.
In recent times, the business has made headlines because it has been recognised with some major awards that are among the most prestigious in the burgeoning solar and renewables industry.i
What is not generally known to islanders, however, is that Watts Up Solar and Electrical is a fully Queensland owned leading solar electrical company. with over 14 years in solar and battery experience.
It is based in all the major Queensland regional centres, including every major town up and down the Queensland Coast, as well as the major inland centres. (Cloncurry, Mt Isa St George, Cape Tribulation etc)
It involves sales in all those places as well as supply, installations and ongoing maintenance and support.
WattsUp have nine installation crews all over the State.
And every aspect of the Watts Up operation is owned, managed and controlled from our islands out of their office at the Emerald Isle centre and three home offices on our Islands
The owners are Smiley and Ramona Sansoni of Watts Up Solar and Electrical in partnership with electrical company and licensed electrician Eugene Clark
Smiley explains that the whole operation is a ‘team’ affair.
“I handle the sales here in our Emerald Isle office and Ramona handles all the supply, teams, warehouse, scheduling, accounting, and the many other aspects of the business,
“What Ramona does in putting the purchasing and placement all together is brilliant, “ Smiley told The Friendly Bay Islander.
And Alysha Blake is a great customer service point of contact and tech support and has been with WattsUp for more than four years.
“Not many people realise that we don’t just provide solar systems to our group of islands, but literally to all of Queensland and have done so since 2008
“That is why we have been officially recognised on a number of levels at the efficiency of what we do here at WattsUp Solar and Electrical.”
There is a considerable amount to organise, with not just purchasing of all the complex panels, batteries, inverters but so much more from some of the best suppliers in Australia.
There is also the job of managing the Government grant process for many of the purchasers who wish to take advantage of up to $9000 in Government grants available
Watts Up supply every size of solar system imaginable from 2kw up to 150kw involving all domestic and large commercial installations, as well as schools and shopping centres.
WattsUp also has the latest in battery technology so that the energy that is generated from the panels on the roof, can be stored in batteries to energise your home at night.
Then there is the selling of your power back to the Virtual Power Plant (VPP ) etc., all organised by Alysha in her island office.
It is a significant island operation indeed
